Pleased to Meet You!

This is a photo of me with our two dogs, Pepper and Neo. Pepper is the fuzzy one and Neo is the little black bundle.

Skin You Love holds a double meaning for me. Yes, it’s about taking care of your skin so that you look better and therefore feel better. But it also means loving being in your own skin – loving yourself and achieving a sense of wellbeing.

As an educator, I’ve seen the power of a positive self image. I have been in the classroom for more than thirty years working with preschoolers through adults. I spent two years researching and publishing articles on continuing education for physicians, and had a column called Outlook on Education in a Los Angeles based parent magazine, “Pony Ride”. I have my M.A. from Pepperdine University in English and Drama.

Teaching touches every aspect of my life, and when I started my business I found myself, once again, in the role of teacher, counselor and mother hen. And that’s the way I like it, because to teach is to learn. When you combine all my students, their families, my coworkers, readers and clients – I have learned from the best!

As for me? I have been married for 28 years and we have two kids, a daughter and a son. My kids are responsible for my daily belly laughs – ask me about the “famous chicken suit!” We all love being able to care for my aging mother in our home. I love our menagerie of pets. I adore my fellow preschool teachers for the compassion and caring they show for their students – they sure don’t do it for the money! I love performing in community theatre. I love having my own business because it’s an adventure every day. I love the perspective and peace that comes with growing older. I value honesty and integrity and am grateful for a host of friends who exemplify these virtues. I love working with little ones because they appreciate the silly side of life…and they laugh at my jokes. At home, the competition is too stiff!
